Verification
GPS gym check-in — and why it has to be more than a pin on a map
A GPS pin is not a workout. Drive-by check-ins, living next to the gym, and “I forgot to start the timer” are why honor systems rot. Verification has to answer three questions: were you there, were you there long enough, and is there a human-looking record of the session.
What OutGrind requires
- GPS at a registered public gym (home gyms do not score for Gym Wars).
- Timer of at least 30 minutes on the device. Leave the geofence and the session ends.
- Check-in photo. First sessions can start without one; they still do not score until the photo is in.
What we do not do
We do not score from Apple Watch rings alone. We do not take your word for it. We do not run a cash prize pool on the public app. The point of proof is a fair gym-vs-gym average, not a payout.
FAQ
Does Apple Health count for Gym Wars?
No. HealthKit is a companion. Scoring needs GPS at the registered public gym, 30+ minutes on the in-app timer, and a check-in photo.
How big is the geofence?
About 120 meters at the gym plus GPS slack, so roughly 170 meters effective. Leave the gym and the session auto-ends.
